I am trained in a number of standard and relaxation massage types, including Swedish, Bamboo Fusion, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Prenatal/Pregnancy, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy and Sports massage. In recent years, I have taking courses in advanced techniques, such as Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, and Neuromuscular Therapy. Most clients of massage are not aware of the different types of massage, so I’ve decided to simplify it. My practice now offers Medical Massage and Integrative Massage.
Medical Massage is specialized massage services that utilize specific techniques such as Myofascial Release, NeuroMuscular Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Trigger Point Therapy, and Stretching as part of a treatment plan. It is provided only with a physician prescription (typically after an accident, chronic pain injury, or surgery), and is paid for through your insurance company at distinct, negotiated rates.
Integrative Massage is a customized approach using a combination of one or more standard or relaxation techniques to treat specific areas of dysfunction during the massage session.
Both the Integrative and Medical Massage services incorporate other tools such as cupping, heat or cold therapy to help you relax, restore range of motion, reduce pain, or achieve treatment plan goals. Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to complete a client intake form. Once you arrive, I will take time to review your wants, needs, expectations and goals; and then develop and deliver your prescribed treatment or custom integrated service.
