Jake is a U.S. Navy veteran. His disciplined and dedicated background enriches his role in the wellness industry. He studied psychology and marketing at the University of Massachusetts - Boston and Northeastern University.
In 2009, he began his first massage therapy practice, Beacon Massage Therapy. His expertise includes various therapeutic techniques, such as manual lymph drainage, neuromuscular, sports, oncology, gerontology, and myofascial release massage to name a few. Beyond the scope of massage therapy, he is a certified Mindfulness instructor, Reiki Master, and Qigong practitioner. These practices help him embody a holistic approach to mind and body health and well-being. Jake’s varied professional journey includes a rewarding corporate career, followed by self-employment through multiple business ownerships.
In his personal life, Jake is the proud father of two sons and grandfather to two grandsons. His dedication to community service is evident in his past volunteer work for 15 years as a mentor and teacher in the Boston and Stoughton Public Schools.
He currently serves as the Founder and President of the Flo Creed-Jacobson Initiative, a non-profit organization committed to teaching mindfulness to children in grades K-12, and adults in rehabilitation programs. He recently became producer of a local cable-tv show, "Beacon for Wellness". Jake is deeply inspired by Frederick Douglass’ quote, “It is much easier to build strong children than to fix broken men,” reflecting his belief in the transformative power of early positive influence.
He has been active for a number of years as a volunteer for several local organizations, including Horizons for Homeless Children, Old Colony Hospice, Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts, and Mentoring to Manhood New England.
